As we promised here is another vendor highlight from our Real Weddings: Grant & Lori that we previously posted.  Grant & Lori's amazing wedding day was held at the New Morgantown Wedding Venue, Benton Grove Bed & Banquets.  Benton Grove is complete with gorgeous mountain views, gazebo, patios, decks, lush landscaping and luxurious accomodations.  If you are a bride to be, you should definitely call the wedding coordinator, Terri Hartley for a personal showing of the grounds.

Since Jennifer and I do pretty much everything together, it would only make sense that we also celebrate our birthdays during the same month as well.  Many of you have dealt one on one with Jennifer while planning the details of your wedding or event either via telephone or in person.  If you have not met this amazing woman you are only cheating yourself.  Jennifer does all the design for our amazing bridal show booths and studio located on High Street in the historic MAC building.  She spends her days as a mother of twin boys, working as a registered nurse, a wife, running not only Sweet Water Event Rentals but also Sprout Photography and of course in her "spare" time browsing through Martha Stewart and of course our favorite blogs (style me pretty, etsy and hostess with the mostess). 
When I was pregnant with Noah I just could not make myself design his nursery.  Everytime I would get started I just became overwhelmed with the stacks of giftbags from showers and clothes everywhere.  Finally going into my 8th month Jennifer couldn't resist any longer.  I came home from work and she had designed and implemented the plan for the whole nursery.  It was stunning!!! From the most perfect blue dots  to images of london and my pregnant belly adorning the walls.  Noah will be 3 this July and I still can't bring myself to change anything in his room because it is just perfect.
Within a five year period she has lived in four different houses but you would never know because within weeks of moving in she has the whole place perfectly painted and designed.  Jennifer has a vision for every project and it always ends with perfection.  If you need help planning your wedding or event she is the one you must shedule an appointment with!!!
Jen, thank you for the most amazing friendship and all you do, you are priceless and I am blessed. We love you, Happy Birthday!!!!

Morgantown Bridal Show - Waterfront Place January 30th!!!

The girls of Sweet Water love a good bridal show! The good deals, the noise, the chaos, the estrogen. Bridal shows can be tons of fun, but a little overwhelming.  So, here is a little advice if you are planning on attending the Bridal Expo at the Waterfront this January 30th from 1-4.

• Think about what you need before you get there. If you are still looking for a specific vendor, such as a photographer or DJ, do a little research before the show.  If you have no idea where to begin, check out wvbridesblog. Among other pages of helpful information, she has built a tremendous list of vendors throughout West Virginia.  Every vendor will have brochures and "eye candy" for you to grab and take home, but focus less on filling your bag and take the time to actually speak with vendors you are interested in. 

• Most vendors will provide a door prize if you sign up at their booth, so save time and print labels with all the basic info (name, grooms name, email, mailing address, phone number, wedding date, ceremony location). Trust us-you will save tons of time not filling out forms.

• The Waterfront provides wonderful food so don't be bashful-dig in and don't forget the cake! Most of all, have fun and enjoy your day. We look forward to seeing you there!

As many of you know, or now realize, Candice and I are co-owners of Sweet Water Event Rentals, and best friends behind the scenes. So, of course, I couldn't let her birthday slide by without today's blog post being all about her. Candice and I met 10 years ago during the second day of our freshman math course. Over the last decade, we have been through marriages, cross state and cross country moves, births, deaths, graduations, ski trips, business plans and more cellular minutes than our husbands are aware of. She was the genius behind the development of Sweet Water, and has also built an immensely successful photography business. Candice Elaine Photography is fun, it's fresh and it is built on the concept that posing and 1, 2, 3 smile is a thing of the past. Her photography is natural and beautiful-and will occupy a blog post of it's own in the weeks to come! Manolo Blahnik had planned on a career in set design until the great socialite and fashion editor Diana Vreeland saw his drawings and declared, "Do shoes, young man. They'll look different from anyone else's." So is the story of Miss Candice-a nurse by degree, and a photographer and entrepreneur by passion and talent. She sees things that most people don't, has unparalleled passion, and is the kind of woman and artist I aspire to be. So happy birthday beautiful girl! You make the world an amazing place.

As I uploaded these images, I couldn't resist but to share one.  Jenny and I decided we didn't want a website with boring images of chairs, tables and dance floors.  So we kicked it up a few notches!  Karrah agreed to model for us and she is a photographers dream.  We headed to Bruceton Mills in 30 degree weather and this girl rocked it!  Hopefully we will have most of our new marketing material to hand out at the Waterfront Bridal Expo on January 30th from 1-4.  So if you will be there, we would love to chat with you. Real Weddings: Grant & Lori!! Morgantown Wedding Rentals

Congratulations to Grant & Lori! This is the first of a series of blogs we will be posting on their October wedding.  We will be highlighting each wonderful vendor that helped make their day unforgettable in the days to come.  This couple was an event planners dream, the first time I met them at Books A Million we just talked about how they met and what they envisioned for their wedding day.  Even as we drank our coffee I couldn't help but smile at how Lori continually gazed at Grant as if no one else existed in their world.  Grant & Lori had an outdoor ceremony at the new Benton Grove Bed & Banquet with their reception taking place on their premises under a Sweet Water Event Rentals fabulous large wedding tent!  As you are going through the process of planning your wedding or event, I hope you find some of the information in the blog helpful.  Jennifer and I are available via appointment to help discuss in further detail any questions you may have.
