Waterfront Bridal Expo//Morgantown Event Rentals

Candice and I were thrilled to kick off the 2011 wedding season with the Bridal Show at the Waterfront Place Hotel. It was absolutely beautiful, as always! We certainly ate our weight in sweet treats and even indulged in a couple of mimosas. Kelly Wilken, with Kelly's Floral Designs, supplied our floral arrangements and we couldn't have been more thrilled. We continued our black and white damask with apple green for just a little bit longer-because we truly can't get enough. Look for us to change it up in the coming months. Are there any wedding trends out there that you all are in love with? Let us know what you think-we love new ideas and obsessions. Along with Elite Bridal, Blooms Florist, Amberlee Christy Photography and so many others, we felt that we were in great company. We're looking forward to Lakeview's Bridal Expo February 20th. See you there!

The Rock and Roll Bride

Candice and I were beyond thrilled to discover that we were included as a favorite blog by Jaime Leigh of WV Brides Blog. How exciting! Jamie does a great job of showcasing a variety of vendors, venues, DIY projects and sources from all over West Virginia and the online world. There are specific postings that brides have contributed, as well as her own experiences. Her vendor list is tremendously inclusive and is extremely helpful, regardless of the region in which you live. Along with our little blog of ramblings were the likes of Etsy, Style Me Pretty and Wedding Bee. Wow! Thank you Jaime! As I started going through some of the blogs listed that I wasn't familiar with, I stumbled across Rock 'n Roll Bride. Now, those of you who know us personally know that the term Rock 'n Roll wouldn't even be the last word used to describe us. It wouldn't even enter the list. However, the brilliant author had written something that struck me. "I have alway stood by the fact that being and Rock 'n Roll bride is not about having the most alternative or out there wedding in the world. It's about planning a wedding that is a reflection of you and your partner and not what the wedding industry tells you to do." Well said, dear girl. Check out a wedding that Candice photographed in August. Sarah and Roy might not be the alternative type, but their wedding was all them, from start to finish. Their first dance started like everyone else's-and just as everyone put down their cameras and started to fall asleep, they busted loose into a mad montage of wild salsa tunes. The bride's dress tore more than once and they were left breathless. It was them-in love and so into each other that they forgot the world existed. Well done Sarah and Roy! Maybe you have a little more Rock 'n Roll in you than anyone knew!
